Valentine’s Day drive

February 5, 2016 BY

There’s something about the smell of a nice car, the feel of its leather seats, the shine and romance of it.

This Valentine’s Day experience some of the magic of the love affair with four wheels at the popular Torquay Rotary Motor Show, held at the spectacular beachside setting of the Torquay foreshore.

With 300+ collectors’ dreams on show, marvel at the craftsmanship that has gone into both the original design and the manufacture of these much-loved vehicles and the restoration skills of l ocal enthusiasts.

There are original trophies to be won in over 20 categories, covering a spectrum of feature classes.

After the spectacular success of cameo categories in previous years, a special Valentine’s Class for a vehicle that depicts love and romance has been included this year to honour the date the show falls on.

In addition to the many cars on show, there will be food, good coffee, refreshments and memorabilia on sale.

“It’s the show for the whole family, with the beach for the kids, shops for the ladies and the cars for the boys,” organisers said.

This event is provided by the Rotary Club of Torquay, proudly supported by the RACV and other local traders with proceeds from the event to be used for local, national and international Rotary projects with a particular focus this year on ROMAC (Rotary Oceania Medical Aid for Children.)

ROMAC provides surgical treatment for children in Australia and New Zealand from developing countries from our Pacific region in the form of life giving and/or dignity restoring surgery not accessible to them in their home country. For more information, visit romac.org.au. Cruise down to Elephant Walk at Torquay Foreshore on Saturday February 14 from 10am to 2pm.

Entry is $15 for car and driver, adults $5 and kids under 14 free.
